AGARTALA, March 8 (TIWN): Hindu devotees thronged to Shiva temples on Friday night to worship Lord Shiva on the occasion of Maha Shiv ratri.
The festival was observed across the state and all Shiva, Kali temples witnessed huge rushes.
Shiva Chaturdashi is considered a very auspicious day for the Hindus. Lord Shiva is bathed with milk and flowers which is a part of the ritual of the festival.
“I have prayed for my children and my family. We observe this festival every year and seek blessings from Lord Shiva,” said a housewife who was waiting with her milk-pot in the row before a Shiva temple in Agartala.
Centering Shiva Chaturdashi, small-scale businessmen set up their shops before the temples. Food stalls are very popular during Shiva Chaturdashi fairs.
