AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): After a meeting was held between Tripura’s two opposition parties Congress and Tipra Motha on Friday, opposition leader – MLA Animesh Debbarma said, Congress party leaders met the Tipra Motha leaders to hold a few political conversations. When confusions over Tipra Motha’s planning about future alliances with the ruling BJP or opposition parties continue to confuse the voters, recently Tipra Motha leaders met Central BJP leaders in Delhi. Today, the meeting was held with Congress which is BJP’s opponent.
Reacting over all these issues, opposition leader Animesh Debbarma said, “Talks with Central Govt has nothing to do with politics. It is official but today Congress leaders came to meet the Tipra Motha leaders with pure political intentions.”
Animesh Debbarma also reminded the people via media about Congress's former Prime Ministers' contributions to Tripura’s ST and ADC development. He said, "Because of Indira Gandhi, we got ADC and Rajiv Gandhi initiated ST reserved seats in the Supreme Court.”
“Congress is in alliance with CPI-M and reminding the fact, the Congress has met the Tipra Motha leaders,” added Animesh Debbarma amid CPI-M’s recently taken strong stand against Tipra Motha, alleging the party’s secret link with BJP party.
Congress MLA Sudip Barman in his reaction said, Tipra Motha’s demand is “legitimate” which is socio, cultural, and political development.
Tipra Motha Supremo Pradyot Manikya and Congress President Asish Saha also attended the meeting.
