AGARTALA, Jan 23 (TIWN): With the increasing drug-addictions in the society, Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura has launched an ‘Anti Drug Mission’ project on the occasion of the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.
As the drug addiction issue is turning into a serious issue in this state affecting 12 years young boys to 30 years youth, this necessary step was taken.
With various programs organized across the state, this project’s inauguration has been conducted.
The decision was taken seeing the rising AIDS disease in the society. Over 20% drug-consumers are affected by AIDS.
On the other hand Hepatitis C affected population among them is 24% whereas before a few years, this disease did not exist. Hepatitis B is somehow still in control as many people took Hepatitis B vaccine.
Also, heart, infection, TB, liver related diseases are on spike.
This Anti-Drug mission is expected to bring a total control over the increasing diseases.
