AGARTALA, Jan 18 (TIWN): Time to time, allegation raised against the SC/ST Welfare Departments for failing to clear the pending stipends of the students. Many protests were held by students to get their stipends but yet, but the trend does not end. Once again B.Ed students gheraoed SC welfare department seeking their pending scholarship. The students’ patience level broke after the department failed to clear the stipends by 15th January which the department head had assured followed by multiple deadlines that were crossed earlier.
They were agitated after they were informed that the Director of SC Welfare Department was not present in the office, whereas the students claimed, they saw Director Asim Saha when they were entering the office but allegedly managed to leave the office seeing the students.
“The Director is not giving us any answer. If our scholarships are not cleared, within 1-week, we will file a case in the High Court”, said a student.
