KAILSAHAHAR, Sep 23 (TIWN): In charge of money embezzlement, a Panchayat Secretary was arrested in Kailashahar, Unakoti District.
Rs. 37 lakhs were allegedly looted by Panchayata Secretary Yamim Ali at Srinath Gram Panchayat. Gournagar BDO lodged the case against Yamim Ali in 2022. Finally after 1 year of the incident, Yamim Ali was arrested by Kailashahar police.
Talking to TIWN, Irani PS OC Jatindra Das said, in 2022, October month Kailashahar Gournagar Block BDO Rameswar Chakraborty lodged a case against Yamim Ali with money embezzlement allegations.
He stated that in 2016-17, 2019-20 the funds came for tubewell and other things were looted by the Panchayat secretary. However, after case was lodged, the Panchayat secretary was going missing. Yesterday from Kailashahar Poultry Bazar, he was arrested.
