SONAMURA, May 9 (TIWN): Arrogance of BJP MLA Kishore Barman created an unpleasant situation in Sonamura on Tuesday during Rabindra Jayanti celebration. The MLA lost his cool after seeing disorders in Rabindra Jayanti program in Sonamura where he went on being invited. The 162nd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated in Sonamura just like all other subdivisions. MLA Kishore Barman suddenly left the stage after coming to inaugurate the sub-divisional program organized under the management of Information Culture Department and Sonamura Nagar Panchayat.
The program had also witnessed low gathering. The entire program was organized at the cost of Rs. 30,000 but the organizers failed to gather public on the occasion. Also no proper microphone and sitting arrangements could be done.
The MLA who came to inaugurate expressed anger about the overall issue. According to few people’s view, even if 5 people were brought from each ward of the town, at least 65 people would have attended the ceremony.
However, Govt officials remained present on the stage till the end of the program.
