AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): Unknown miscreants poisoned the pond of a former panchayat member of the ruling BJP party. The incident occurred in Noapara area under Bishalgarh PS.
It is known that Jahangir Alam, a former panchayat member of Ward No.- 4 Noapara area of Raghunathpur village panchayat, found today morning that unknown miscreants poured poison into his pond on Monday morning. He noticed that fish in the pond were dying and floating in the water. Later the incident was reported to Bishalgarh PS. Police rushed to the spot and registered a case.
The victim Jahangir Alam is a farmer by profession.
Miscreants had set fire to a pile of straw in Jahangir Alam's house on the night of the polling day on February 16. He is no longer working for the ruling party.
Jahangir Alam was affected in two consecutive incidents. Now he is seeking administrative assistance after the incident and urged the Govt for compensation.
