Agartala, January 19 (TIWN): With the initiative of Central Board for Workers’ Education (CBWE) under the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment in collaboration with Regional Directorate of Imphal inaugurated a five-day Special Training Programme for NGO Functionaries of the North Eastern Region. The training programme was started at the conference hall of Centre for Co-operative Management, Tripura (CCMT) at Arundhatinagar in Agartala.
Director of Employee, Services and Manpower Planning- Balin Debbarma graced the inaugural session as chief guest while the programme was presided over by the Executive Officer of TSCU- Sukanta Saha and DIG of Border Security Force (BSF)- Bhagat Singh Tolia remained present as guest of honour. Besides, Executive Officer of CBWE, Imphal- SAK Singh briefed about the vision and mission of the board in details.
During the programme, two seminars- ‘Direct Benefit Transfer and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana’ and ‘Experience Sharing among the NGO Functionaries’ were addressed by the manager of SBI Regional Business Office, Agartala- Subroto Chakraborty and Executive Officer of CBWE, Imphal- SAK Singh respectively.
Scientist (C), Spices Board, ZO- Monaj Oomen would deliver lecture in a seminar on ‘Livelihood through spices rich NE Region- Its perspective and opportunities’ while Principal of CCMT- Ashutosh Das will address a seminar on ‘Rural Development through Co-operatives’ on tomorrow. Besides, two more seminars- ‘Issues on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment: Constraints and Remedies’ and ‘Promotion of Sustainable Livelihoods through various NRLP in NE Region’ will be addressed by the member of Tripura Bar Association- Advocate Pushpita Chakrabarty and the project manager of NRLP, Tripura on tomorrow respectively.
Besides, many other seminars and workshops will be organized during the training programme. The five-day Special Training Programme will be closed on January 23.
