AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): 2023 Assembly Poll was a blow for the BJP, win of the Republic as no poll rigging, violence plans of the BJP worked out but now BJP is spreading rumours with prevocational comments like “opposition will not get counting agents” on counting day.
After 5 years of rigging and booth capturing, BJP which wanted 3 phases poll in Tripura failed even to stop voters from casting vote and till night 10 O’Clock voting continued.
No booth capturing, no terror worked out to stop the voters, but since morning BJP’s IT cell has started a new trend on social media with copy-paste comments that CPI-M/ Congress will not get polling agents in this upcoming poll counting day and it has caused tension within the opposition and that’s the reason, CPI-M started violence and protests.
BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee calling a press meet on Sunday has claimed, “The opposition will not get counting agents on counting day and that’s why the opposition is doing such activities”.
He also said, "BJP workers may stay alert against such violence of CPI-M, Congress and fight back and we are with you".
Such comments are not only a violation of the Election Commission’s guidelines but also ‘rumours’ and ‘false propaganda’ when Election Commission of India has ordered a Violence Free Poll and to keep control in Tripura law and order till 4th March. Now it’s to be seen what action Election Dept would take against Rajib Bhattacharjee for his prevocational comment through press meet. Rajib Bhattacharjee is also a candidate of BJP from Banamalipur constituency.
