AGARTALA, Feb 18 (TIWN): A massive attack was organized on the Tipra Motha leader Shah Alam, who has been a candidate in this Assembly Poll from Bishalgarh. The candidate along with his supporters rushed to Agartala Police Headquarter protesting against the incident and seeking justice. Talking to the Tipra Motha candidate, he said, this is not the first time that opposition party leaders, workers are under this kind of attack but many times such incidents have been repeated but hardly any action could be taken by police, although one person has been arrested by police. Seeking a proper investigation into the matter, the Tipra Motha workers led by Shah Alam have come to the Police headquarter.
Shah Alam is regional party Tipra Motha candidate from Bishalgarh. When he arrived Police Headquarter, his vehicle’s glasses were found vandalized by miscreants.
Shah’s Alam’s driver is a resident of Joypur area, Agartala. The vehicle was kept in front of his home, when the attack took place.
“The car was attacked with a sharp weapon. Fortunately, it did not hit the driver; otherwise he could have been killed on spot”, he said.
