AGARTALA, Feb 11 (TIWN): Congress candidate Ashok Debbarma was attacked in Charilam constituency on Saturday during poll campaigning. Charilam is the constituency of Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman. His vehicle was vandalized by some miscreants when he was approaching voters in a local-level campaigning. Reportedly, the miscreants gheraoed the vehicle and said, “No campaigning can be done in the area" asking them further to go bnack and when the candidate and his team refused to go back, then unprecedented attacks were done.
Vehicle was hit with thick sticks which caused minor injuries to the candidate Ashok Debbarma. The injured candidate was taken to the local hospital.
