AGARTALA, Nov 23 (TIWN): A burglary took place in the house of a resident of Chandrapur Resham Bagan area at Pijush Majumder’s house. It is known for few days he was not at home and taking this opportunity a thief looted a rice cooker along with gold ornaments including cash was stolen. Later, based on secret sources information the Police of East police station under the leadership of Krishna Gopal Debnath and ASI Deb Debbarma led search operation and detained the thief named.
The thief is identified as Pankaj Kr Saha (32), S/o- Pradip Kr Saha resident of Ambassa and presently he is residing at Chandrapur area as a tenant. It is known the thief is addicted towards drugs.
The market value of the stolen gold ornaments will be Rs 2 lakh 75 thousand, said Sadar SDPO Ajay Kumar Das.
