AGARTALA, Oct 28 (TIWN): Mason becomes Extortion leader, an extortioner ransacked a shop of a small trader in Canal Chowmuhani area, two kilometers away from Udaipur RK Pur PS. Reportedly, Rajesh Sarkar, a small businessman was affected on the day of Diwali. It is known that an extortioner identified as Indrajit Das demanded Rs 1000 to Rajesh Sarkar on the day of Diwali.
As the shop owner Rajesh refused to pay the money, the extortioner Indrajit brought an iron rod from a nearby house and started chasing Rajesh with Iron Rod. To save his life, he somehow ran out of the shop and went home, Indrajit followed him accordingly and while returning from there, Indrajit vandalized Rajesh Sarkar's shop and took Rs 12,000 from the Cash box, reportedly.
Later, Rajesh brought his elderly mother and other family members noticing the shop’s condition started screaming. However, none of the traders in Canal Chowmuhani Bazaar came forward to help Rajesh.
Centering the incident Rajesh filed a case against Indrajit at RK Pur PS. Based on the complaint the police came to Rajesh's shop and went to extortioner Indrajit's house but he escaped leading to the spot before Police arrived.
It is known that since the BJP government came to power, the traders of Canal Chowmuhani Bazaar are suffering from Indrajit Das due to extortion. No one has filed a case out of fear so far. It is now to be seen what action Police will take against Extortion leader Indrajit Das (a Mason).
