Agartala, January 12 (TIWN): Canara Bank Employees’ Union (CBEU) state committee today conducted a social identification programme at Amtali Naba Prantik Children Home near Rose Valley Park here today.
As part of the programme, the committee has distributed two steel almirah, stationery items, musical instruments, sports equipments and food items among 55 children of the Home, said Rahul Chakraborty, secretary of the committee in a press conference at Agartala Press Club today.
He further stated that, the union has been conducting such social identification drives throughout length and breadth of the country for last 15 years. The amount that has been spent for such programmes was contributed by the members of the union from their salary, he added.
The new state committee was constituted on January 11 during the first conference of Canara Bank Employees’ Union at the Agartala Press Club.
