Agartala, January 12 (TIWN): Tripura College of Nursing celebrated its 8th Foundation Day throughout various events at Nazrul Kalakshetra here today. Health Minister Badal Chowdhury inaugurated the programme by lighting a ceremonial lamp while the function was presided over by the Health Secretary and chairman of SFTMC- M. Nagaraju.
Chief Secretary GK Rao graced the dais as guest of honour while chairperson of Tripura Commission for Women (TCW)- Purnima Roy, Director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine Department- KL Bhowmik, member of governing body, SFTMC- Dr. Ela Lodh, Chief Executive Officer, SFTMC- Ashok Kumar Poddar and Principal of TMC and Dr. BRAM Teaching Hospital- SK Bhattacharya attended the programme as special guests.
To mark the Foundation Day pogramme, a scientific session-cum-seminar on ‘Evidence Based Practice’ was conducted. Vice-Principal of College of Nursing, Silchar Medical College- Pushpita Chakraborti and Head of the Pediatric Department, Rgional College of Nursing, Assam- Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Das attended the seminar as key resource persons.
Health Minister Badal Chowdhury unveiled a college magazine ‘GLEAM’ in the function. Besides, prizes were distributed among the toppers of the college in the University examinations. The faculties of Tripura College of Nursing performed the inaugural song.
Principal of Tripura College of Nursing- Sikha Deb delivered the welcome address and also submitted annual college report during the programmed. The presidential address was delivered by the Health Secretary M. Nagaraju.
