AGARTALA, Sep 10 (TIWN): Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has slammed BJP led state govt over the canceled social pensions of thousands of people.
“The people who were targeted and at a moment, their social pension was slashed their rights have to be given them back. We have to continue strive to ensure that the Govt is bound to restore the slashed social pensions”, said Manik Sarkar during a protest program at Orient Chowmuhani, Agartala.
The statement came after BJP led state govt since 2018 continued to cut social pensioners’ names from the beneficiary list. It included even 80+ years old men and women.
The program was organized by CPI-M MLAs with 20 points of demands including MGNREGA to other works, public issues, unemployment etc.
