TELIAMURA, Aug 27 (TIWN): Vehicles used for smuggling along with illegal sawn timber seized during smuggling. The incident took place on Saturday in Kunjaban area of ??Kalyanpur under Teliamura Sub-Divisional Forest Department.
On Saturday morning, the forest personnel of Teliamura forest department went out on routine patrolling and seized a vehicle from Kunjban area of ??Kalyanpur for illegal logging.
During routine patrolling in Kunjban area of ??Kalyanpur, the forest personnel spotted a Bolero truck numbered TR 01 P 1793 on its way to smuggle illegal sawn timber, but on seeing the forest personnel, the vehicle tried to flee. The patrolling forest personnel chased the vehicle and was able to seize the vehicle.
However, the smugglers in the vehicle involved in timber smuggling managed to escape from the spot.
The market value of the car including the seized wood is approximately one lakh rupees.
