AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): Ambassa PS police seized Cannabis weight- 751 kg from a vehicle No- NL-02-AA-0078 which market value would be around Rs 75 lakhs. The Police seized the cannabis from a chamber inside the vehicle at Naka Point near Ambasa Bet Bagan on Monday night and the vehicle was heading to out state from Agartala.

The vehicle driver was arrested and he is a resident of Ghaziabad.

Meanwhile, sub-divisional police officer Suman Majumder and OC Anupam Das rushed to the spot after receiving the news. The SDPO said that the police had information from a confidential source and accordingly more police were deployed at Naka Point.

The arrested will be handed over to Dhalai District and Sessions Court seeking police remand on Tuesday and a case under NDPS Act will be taken against him.
