AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): Data differs among the statements of former Chief Minister Biplab Deb and incumbent CM Manik Saha regarding water supply accesses. Whereas the previous CM Biplab Deb used to claim in almost his all speeches that around 52% of the target was fulfilled in house to house water extension, today Manik Saha said only around 52% of the target could be satisfied whereas it should be 85%. Manik Saha was addressing media at Secretariat before his Delhi visit where all Chief Ministers of various states will present report before PM Modi. Briefing in front of the media further, Saha said, “Our State Govt’s performance is overall good, but in some sectors there are weaknesses. This ghar-ghar-jal project is amongst them. It needs to be clarified why 85% target could not be fulfilled. All these things needs to be told the PM within 7 minutes".
"There are reasons like price hikes of pipes after the Covid. So all issues will be raised before the PM”, he added.
On Monday, Manik Saha said that he has to place a report on the pending Lighthouse project also.
