AGARTALA, Feb 16 (TIWN): INTUC, Congress’s trade union has placed various demands before the Labour Department for the working section of people.

Talking to the media, an INTUC leader said, “We have raised various demands and placed a deputation to the Labour Commissioner. We will be for the people and will be working for them”.

Some of the important demands raised by the INTUC are :

1) Stop political interference on the Trade Unions’ Rights,

2) Any worker should not work more than 8 hours,

3) To stop direct, indirect politically biased roleplay of TIDC against Congress trade union members in clearing loans,

4) All tea industry workers should be provided with BPL cards and other facilities,

5) Stop deprivation and cheating in MGNREGA work distributions

6) Increase the wages of the workers as per price hikes

7) Agricultural workers should be paid Rs. 700 per wage etc.
