AGARTALA, Feb 9 (TIWN): Illegal drug smuggling to other various illegal activities are at full wave in Tripura. Earlier Tripura CM, Biplab Deb had claimed that Tripura is free from Drug smuggling and successfully reduced drug smuggling in Tripura. But, it has been noticed that drug smugglers have created an empire of drug smuggling in the state. Everyday in nook and corner of the state small drug traders are being arrested but the main criminals are often getting relief from being detained.

Reportedly, Kumarghat PS police were in ambush based on secret source's information in front of Kumarghat PS on Tuesday. At that moment an auto traveling towards ‘Birashi Mile’ was stopped and police seized cash amount including drugs worth Rs 30-35,000.

In this smuggling case 2 women including the auto driver were detained along with drugs weighing 10.25gm.

Case was filed against the arrested persons under NDPS case and the detained auto no- TR04A3110.
