AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): A woman was seriously injured in a fire incident on Saturday. She was immediately taken to primary medical center and later referred to GB Hospital in critical condition. The incident took place in Putia area under Kalamchaura police station.
According to the details of the incident, when the woman identified as Hanufa Khatun set fire to her house on Saturday night, her clothes caught fire from behind. Her body was severely burnt. After hearing her screams, the family members put out the fire and brought her to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital.
The doctor of Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, seeing the deteriorating condition of the woman after initial treatment, referred her to GB Hospital.
Hanufa Khatun is currently undergoing treatment at the burn unit of GB Hospital. This incident erupted massive tension in the locality of Kalamchaura area.
