AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): ONGC workers who have not been paid for a long time blockade road at around 11 a.m. on Saturday, around 1400 unpaid workers blocked the national highway to show protest. The incident took place in Hawaii Bari area under Teliamura police station.
According to the details it is known, the temporary workers of ONGC who have been working for several months are not getting their monthly salary. ONGC temporary workers repeatedly informed the high-ranking officials Vishnu Arora, an officer working in Baramura to pay their salaries but nothing was happened. ONGC workers have been fighting for survival for a long time due to negligence of the officers. These temporary workers out of angst blockade road on the National Highway at Hawaibari Drop Gate area under Teliamura PS around 11 am on Saturday.
Upon receiving the news, Vishnu Aurora, the officer of ONGC and Teliamura police personnel rushed to the spot, as the official rushed to the spot protesters started shouting by raising slogans that they would not remove the blockade till they received their last month's salary. Later, however, the Teliamura police cleared the road by removing the angst unpaid protest.
However, it has been seen that the ONGC official, Vishnu Arora tried to snatch journalist 's camera while covering news and also pushed him in front of hundreds of workers.
