AGARTALA, Dec 22 (TIWN): A terrible fire broke out in the rubber storage room of ward no.-6 of Chandipur gram Panchayat in Kailasahar on Wednesday, which spread panic in the entire area.
As soon as the incident was witnessed, the fire department of Kailasahar was reported. Although the two engines of the fire brigade reached the spot but due to the narrow and unscientific road, the fire department personnel had to face difficulties to reach the spot in due time.
2 engines of the Fire Department in collaboration with the locals brought the fire under control after a long effort of an hour. Initially, it is estimated that 6 lakh rupees has been lost.
The owner, Ashish Das of the rubber storage room requested the state government and the Higher Authorities of the concerned Fire Department to ensure that local workers were given responsibility in their area so that they could reach the affected areas properly. Besides, he opined that the fire brigade personnel should identify the areas under the jurisdiction of the fire department and monitor the roads.
However, the victim owner also said that he has been affected the most due to the narrow roads.
