AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): Drug trading is rampant in Tripura. A drug dealer was caught in the Pushkar Bari area from Bishramganj red-handed by local people and handed over to the Police.
The detained drug dealer was identified as Subrata Debnath, S/O- Shankar Debnath residing near Kali Mandir adjacent to Bishramganj Barjala SP office.
The drug dealer was detained by locals in the Pushkar Bari area of Bishramganj on Friday night with a large quantity of brown sugar. Later, the local people handed over the drug trader to the Police of Bishramganj PS.
He later admitted that he brought the Brown Sugar from Agartala and also said he has been selling the contraband items in Bishramganj Bazar for a long time.
The accused drug seller Subrata was recently sentenced to four months in jail for selling drugs.
