AGARTALA, Dec 8 (TIWN): Crime against women increasing rapidly in the state, on one side the State Govt giving statement about decreasing Women’s crime but the ground reality shows different scenario.

Talking to the victim housewife, Purnima Dey it is known on 2003 she got married with Krishna Dey of Suparikhola under Rajnagar PS, Belonia but often Purnima’s husband used to torture her in drunken state.

Out of unbearable Physical torture the housewife set fire on her on Tuesday. Immediately local people took her to the Belonia Hospital from where she was referred to Agartala GB Hospital. The housewife is undergoing treatment, her condition is critical and the lower portion of the body almost burnt.

Family sources said, the criminal husband often torture her Physically by demanding money also sell household items by stealing, earlier case was filed against the husband but nothing was done.

A case will be filed against her husband Krishna at the police station, though.
