AGARTALA, Dec 8 (TIWN): Locals, including school children blocked roads demanding road repairing. The incident took place at Raiyabari on Udaipur Killa Road on Wednesday morning. Resulting, huge traffic jams occurred on both sides of the road.

Talking to a local villager it is known many families are residing in Raiyabari but the villagers are facing troubles for a long time due to the dilapidated condition of the road.

It is alleged that despite repeated demands for road repairs to the BDO including the local Panchayat, no initiative has been taken. As a result, the villagers were bound to block the road on Wednesday, the road blockade caused huge traffic jams though.

Killa Police Station OC Biswajit Debbarma rushed to the spot and assured verbally to solve the problem immediately and then the road blockade was lifted.
