AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): One more terminated teacher Niren Sinha has passed away. The terminated teacher died of a broken heart, said his colleagues. Niren Sinha, a resident of Kamalpur, was a graduate teacher. Yesterday evening he was taken to Kamalpur hospital. From there, for better treatment, Niren Sinha was transferred to GB hospital but around at night 12 O’Clock the terminated teacher breathed his last. So far death tolls have risen to 116.
The 10323 teachers lost jobs after the Supreme Court confirmed irregularities in the teachers’ recruitment. Though the then Left Govt found an alternative livelihood means for the teachers, BJP as the opposition party promised the 10323 teachers that 'not alternative jobs’ but if BJP is voted to power, then all the teachers will be made permanent.
But after assuming power, BJP miserably failed to keep the pre-poll promise and the teachers are jobless for over 21 months. Many teachers died due to financial crisis and failure to bear medical expenditure and some teachers died of heart attacks, committed suicide.
