AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Without discussing in Assembly, Violating “Right to Education '', Tripura Govt has taken an extreme decision of privatizing Tripura Govt schools in the name of “Quality Education ''.
Instead of massive recruitment of teachers, Tripura Govt has decided to entertain private sectors, which will make the Education system costlier. Moreover, the land will be handed over to the private hands for 30 years.
Centering the decision, storms of controversy have been generated statewide. Massive conversions of Tripura TBSE schools into CBSE are destroying the free education system and the flow of teachers' recruitment in the state.
However, Ratan Lal Nath, the Education Minister has claimed, it is not privatization as 25% of Poor students from Poor Families will be given Free Education in such schools.
Education Director Chandni Chandran however said, "Teachers will be from the State Education Dept but the Teachers and Headmasters will be selected by DM-committee".
"We have not got any interested party yet to make the deals, but we have prepared the dais for the sake of quality education", added Ratan Lal Nath.
Such systems might heavily affect girls' education and also poor families' children's education as the majority of the poor are uncovered from the lowest poverty rate's facility officially.
