AGARTALA, Dec 1 (TIWN): Tripura CPI-M top leaders including former CM Manik Sarkar, Ex-Minister Badal Choudhury, Pabitra Kar and others had appeared in the Court. All of them were booked in connection with 26th August, 2020's Protest programme for 'Food, Work for All'. Court has accepted bails to all the leaders. Talking to media, Advocate Horibol Debnath said that the case was clearly politically motivated as nobody among the agitator had any intention to break Covid protocols but with a political vendetta, this case was lodged. The Advocate further said to harass the leaders of the Communist party police lodged the FIR.
Reacting to the incident, former CM Manik Sarkar said, “There was an allegation that people were injured in the incident but neither police nor any of us was injured. This is a clearly motivated case under instruction from the ruler. Our demands were for the common men which were important to raise when the whole nation was reeling under crisis due to wrong policy of the Govt”.
