AGARTALA, Nov 19 (TIWN): The students who have been protesting since the Education Department published a notification to take the Standard-IX and XII exams of 80 marks instead of 40, were arrested today.
Students disagreed with the decision of Education Department for publishing such a notification just 15 days before the exam. To withdraw the notification and to take exams with 40 marks the student walked in the city to show their protest, but the students were arrested by West Police and were taken to AD Nagar Police ground.
The students protest was organized by NSUI leader Samrat Roy.
Oppositely SFI-TSU also placed deputation to the Education Department to reduce exam marks and the exam should be taken with prior decided marks.
