AGARTALA, Nov 19 (TIWN): Welcoming the late decision of the Modi Govt of repealing the farm bills, Samukta Kisan Morcha has demanded compensation to the farmers’ families immediately who lost their lives in the fight of farmers rights and in their continuous struggle to force the Govt to withdraw decisions over 3 farm laws. Addressing the media, leader Pabitra Kar said, Samyukta Kisan Morcha has been with the farmers since the beginning and our protest will be continuing until the Govt withdraws the bill practically. “The PM has begged mercy from the nation but the farmers who died must not be forgotten. They are inseparable parts of the movement. We demand that the Govt should take care of the families. We have initially helped the families but it’s now the responsibility of the Govt”.
Addressing the nation on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti on Friday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the government has decided to repeal the three farm laws, which were at the centre of protests by farmers for the past year, and appealed to the protesting farmers to return home.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation on Friday said that the government will repeal the three Farm Bills. PM Modi further said, "We Could Not Convince Some Farmers." Farmers have been protesting against the bills for over a year now.
