AGARTALA, Nov 17 (TIWN): Trinamool’s 4 workers who came from West Bengal have been arrested in Tripura.Around 40 workers who are working for Trinamool in Tripura are residing in a hotel and some were residing in TMC candidate Baptu Chakraborty’s home, which is however not illegal, but police suddenly entered the home of Baptu Chakraborty yesterday and arrested four. Talking to the media, TMC candidate Baptu Chakraborty said, “Rooted in Bengal, TMC workers will come from Bengal ahead of the elections and it’s not unconstitutional. As per Election Commission’s guideline, our workers will leave before the model code of conduct will be imposed on 23rd November. What’s wrong with this ?"
Baptu Chakraborty added, "BJP before the 2018 election brought uncountable workers from UP, Bihar, Assam and 300 bikes were brought from UP but nobody had put any objection to them. However, we will fight legally”
“Our four workers were illegally arrested by police yesterday based on a fake case filed by BJP worker Prasenjit Ghosh. Our each victim will individually file a case against police harassment”, said Baptu Chakraborty.
On being asked, a police official claimed, police were checking whether Covid protocols have been maintained in the house or not.
Earlier back in August last week, the I-PAC team was house arrested in a hotel with a massive deployment of police force until the Court had bailed them out.
