Tripura Municipal Poll : CPI-M protested against Police’s inactive role amid brutal attacks on Opposition

AGARTALA, Nov 15 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M party has staged a massive protest against the ongoing attacks on the opposition parties in Tripura where many opposition candidates were attacked recently but no action was taken by police.
The protest started from the Melarmath Party office. The CPI-M party along with other Left Front parties demonstrated in front of the police headquarter.
The agitators raised ‘Inqilab zindabad’ slogan and asked why police are silent and inactive amid deteriorated law and order situation.
The protest has been continuing for hours. CPI-M leaders said, without getting an answer from the police, they would not leave the protest ground.
Party State Secretary Jitendra Choudhury was also present in the demonstration.
