AGARTALA, Nov 15 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress convener Subal Bhowmik has alleged that under BJP Govt in Tripura, conditions of women are even worse than the Taliban era in Afghanistan.

The statement came from Subal Bhowmik during an address to the media over law and order conditions.

“Even women MPs are not safe in Tripura and our candidates are attacked in broad daylight, their houses are attacked but the Central Govt is not interfering. Unlike other states, the Governor and Judiciary, no institution is coming forward to uphold the democracy that forced us to move the Supreme Court but after the Supreme Court’s verdict, BJP Govt here has totally turned insane and the level of violence multiplied. But we will not give up. We want immediate downfall of the Govt and also Centre’s intervention”, Bhowmik told the media.
