AGARTALA, Nov 10 (TIWN): At least hundreds of youths had gheraoed Trinamool candidate of Ward No-14 Poushali Datta after she visited Ranjit Nagar for door to door campaigning.

Her co-worker Sajal Kumar Datta was brutally attacked after the TMC members refused to leave the area.

The incident took place when she was in the door to campaigning. At first a few youths on bikes asked her to leave the area and when she refused to leave, within a short time, hundreds of youths gheraoed her. Then she was bound to leave the area.

She has lodged an FIR in Ramnagar outpost as her coworker Sajal Kumar Datta was not only beaten up but was also threatened not to go to his home.

This is the same ward where the Left Front candidate was forced to withdraw nomination through severe attacks on the candidate.
