AGARTALA, Nov 8 (TIWN): Since nomination submission date was announced for Tripura Municipal polls, BJP has been continuing its statewide attacks on the opposition party candidates. After winning hundred seats uncontested, now BJP continues its pressure, threats to the candidates to withdraw nominations.
Today, BJP Attacked in Swapna Mallik, TMC candidate of 38 number ward, AMC. The BJP workers allegedly had threatened her to withdraw nomination papers by 3 pm, today. Also her son was beaten up severely by the miscreants. Some of the attackers were identified by candidate Swapna Mallik.
Talking to the media, she said, "I was in my home at around 12.30 pm. Suddenly 25 to 30 youths rushed to my home and started threatening me to withdraw nominations. They were slamming me with slang words. I told them that I am not going to withdraw my nomination and they said if today nomination is not withdrawn then the consequence will not be good for me".
