AGARTALA, Nov 5 (TIWN): Congress student unit NSUI has alleged that ragging is going on in Tripura Colleges.
In a press meet, NSUI State leader Samrat Roy said, “We have information that in various colleges like NIT and Universities massive ragging are going on. Govt must stop the rigging”.
“As per Govt order, ragging has been stopped in colleges but why such activities will take place. We request the Govt to check the matters and stop ragging. The senior students of various institutions also must realize that ragging is illegal”, said Roy.
The NSUI also voiced support for the pending stipends of 16,000 students. Samrat said, “After protesting for around 12 hours, the Dept was agreed and all ST students will get stipends by 2 to 3 days. This is a victory of the students. But still OBC students have not received stipends and we demand it should be also cleared very soon or we have to go in protest again".
