UDAIPUR, Nov 4 (TIWN): On the occasion of Deepabali devotees thronged to celebrate Kali Puja and offered prayers to Mata Tripura Sundari on Thursday. Matabari premise is now in full festive temperament with them illumination of lighting, long line of devotees, crowd at food stalls, "peda" sweet shops, hotels making delicious food items for devotees.The main attraction of whole Tripura during Diwali is at Udaipur Gomati Tripura’s Matabari temple. A good number of CCTV camera have been set at Matabari for Diwali. Also huge numbers of police force are deployed at the temple on the day of Diwali. Long queues of devotees, sadhus, children, chanting of religious songs filled air with festivities.

Deepabali is a festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists, notably Newar Buddhists. The festival usually lasts five days and is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika.
