AGARTALA, Nov 3 (TIWN): Heavy fuel prices have hit the common men in Tripura. On Sunday consumers’ egg eyes were witnessed after the price of fuel went up heavily. Normal petrol Rs. 110.28, Diesel Rs. 102.58 in Agartala. Recently ahead of Durga puja, CNG price was also increased by 5 rupees. In other subdivisions, the fuel prices are higher. A customer has expressed extreme anger over the rising prices of fuel, saying, “Govt is totally silent about the sufferings of the common men. The price was at Rs. 70 to Rs. 72 and now it has shot up to Rs. 110. But our incomes are not increasing. The Govt must look into the matter”.
A vehicle rider who bought diesel at Rs. 102.58 said if fuel prices go high, they have to stop driving. Earlier it was at Rs. 60 but now it has crossed to Rs. 100.
Another customer said, “Although the Govt is claiming that the price hike is being used for Covid but we are clueless about the Govt’s claim’s authenticity. The price hikes are unbearable for common men like us”.
