AGARTALA, Nov 3 (TIWN): SDM Sadar Ashim Saha has informed the media that in this poll no VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) but only EVM machines will be kept.

Tripura Municipal Polls will be conducted on 25th November.

Right now the nomination paper submission process is going on and then other phases will also be started. In all booths 5 polling officers will remain.

Adequate security arrangements will be there, said the SDM.

“Peaceful elections are Tripura’s glory and I hope it will continue”, said the SDM.

However, the SDM’s statement was faulty as since 2018 either local body poll or Lok Sabha massive rigging were done by the BJP party and voting percentage also drastically dropped. Booth capturing was also massively seen in the last local body poll.
