AGARTALA, Oct 24 (TIWN): Attempts to destroy communal harmony, a large part of the mosque in Naraura Tila area under Bishalgarh PS was burnt to ashes by unknown miscreants in the darkness of night.

Reportedly, a group of miscreants poured kerosene around the mosque late on Saturday night and set it on fire. The crematorium bed inside the mosque, doors and windows of the mosque and some other valuables were burnt to ashes.

Later, the locals noticed the fire and somehow brought the fire under control. 

Getting information, huge police and TSR forces rushed to the spot.  Locals said that there is a mixed settlement of Hindus and Muslims in the area and the locals have good relations with each other. 

Police assured stern action against the miscreants. Talking to locals, people from all communities have condemned the attack and demanded action. The situation is totally peaceful there.
