AGARTALA, Oct 22 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee was not allowed by Police to attend any rally in Agartala amid repeated requests by the party and the September 22nd's rally was finally cancelled by Police due to Section 144 imposition which was specifically imposed ahead of Abhishek Banerjee’s rally but BJP and its wings have been continuing various programmes in Agartala breaking Section 144. Citing such an example BJP organized a bike rally today violating Section 144 where Ministers and various Politically elected members of the Administration participated. The rally was organized to thank Modi Govt for maximum vaccinations in the country against Covid-19, the deadly pandemic which killed lakhs of lives in the first and second wave.

While addressing the occasion, Minister Ram Prasad Pal said, “Our rally is dedicated to PM Modi for his excellent works. The way he and his Govt has administered Covid vaccines it’s commendable. In Tripura also, 100% vaccination is done”.

However, this rally has triggered criticism and frustrated the democratic setup proving once again that rules are differently imposed against different parties in the state.
