AGARTALA, Oct 21 (TIWN): An old man died on the spot after being brutally beaten up by neighbour on Wednesday at around 11:30 PM at Sesrimile in Bishalgarh.
The deceased old man was Upendra Debnath (70). According to the victim family, Biplab Ghosh and his wife Mithu Rani Debbarma started kicking in an alcoholic manner in Upendra Debnath’s house on Wednesday night and suddenly entered their house and beaten Upendra Debnath and his family members. In the tussle, Upendra Debnath (70) fell to the ground in an unconscious state.
After receiving the news, Police of Bishramganj PS rushed to the spot and took critically injured Upendra Debnath to Bishramganj Primary Hospital where the on duty Doctors declared him dead. The body was handed over to the family after an autopsy.
So far the Bishramganj PS police have not been able to arrest the accused persons. Centering the incident tension erupted in the entire area.
