AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): Ahead of Durga puja, Agartala city is sparkling with colourful decorations, lightings. Clubs are busy in giving finishing touches to pandals and idols in Tripura. In some of the clubs, idols' eyes are drawn whereas in few other pandals, decorations are being completed. Agartala city is flooded by crowds ahead of Durga puja, people are busy in shopping, businessmen are busy in selling their items at maximum possible prices and youngsters are enjoying outings with friends. Though Covid concern remains on peak, the crowd is turning unmanageable as Durga puja is the biggest annual festival of Tripura, Bengal and Assam like states. Despite price rise, huge numbers of people are thronging the branded outlets' showrooms to grab the best outfits for themselves and their loved ones.
As per the rituals and religious norms, this year Durga puja Tritiya and Chaturthi have fallen on the same date that is today. Across the state, people have geared up to celebrate Durga puja 2021 which is the greatest annual festival of the state.
As per Tritiya, today is Maa Chandraghanta’s Puja & as per Chaturthi Maa Kushmanda Puja will also be worshipped today. The main puja however will start from Shasti evening in puja pandals.
Durga puja is celebrated statewide and all community, religions’ people gather together to celebrate this puja, walk in the crowd. For children it’s the biggest festival when for a long time around 15 days schools remain closed.
