AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): Based on secret information, Police seized 130 kg cannabis from a lorry while trafficking at Shalbagan area.
According to a tip-off on Saturday, Mungiakami police and Teliamura traffic unit personnel were on special vehicle checking in Shalbagan area.
Later, 13 packets filled with 130kg cannabis recovered from a lorry register number-AS19 C 3035. The driver has been identified as Rupam Chakma and co-drivers Lalon Chakma and Sandhak Chakma, residents of Kanchanpur area were detained.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sonacharan Jamatia said the packets of cannabis were being loaded from Agartala Bypass Road and were supposed to be taken to Bihar. Several traffickers’ names came out during the interrogation of the three detainees.
However, those names cannot be disclosed for the sake of investigation.
