AGARTALA, Oct 8 (TIWN): Drunk driving led to accident in Bishalgarh Gate No-1, after Sepahijala Dist SP’s vehicle was hit from behind today morning while on the way to Bishalgarh from Agartala.

According to the details of the incident, Sepahijala District Superintendent of Police Krishnendu Chakraborty was on the way to Bishalgarh from Agartala around 10.40 am on Friday. As soon as he reached in Bishalgarh Gate No-1, a Maruti van registered number-TR01E0627 hit Sepahijala District SP, Krishnendu Chakraborty’s vehicle hardly from behind.

It is learned that the Maruti van’s driver, Prasenjit Saha was in drunken state. Eyewitnesses spotted the ruling party’s flag in his car which was later removed immediately.

However, in this accident no severe injury was reported, but the accident caused a stir in the entire area. Police arrested the intoxicated driver.
