AGARTALA, Oct 7 (TIWN): Known faces have formed a new party in Tripura on Thursday named ‘Tripura Democratic Front’. Former Congress President Pijush Biswas, Vice President Tapas Dey and Youth Congress leaders are members of the new party. Talking to media, Pijush Biswas blamed AICC leadership for Tripura Congress’s weak situation. Biswas alleged that many times before the Assembly Polls of Tripura, Central Congress leaders did not come to Tripura even after promising, which had weakened the spirit of the party workers. “Central Congress has betrayed Tripura Congress repeatedly in 2003, 2008, 2013, 2018. I still remember, we propagated that Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi and the then PM Manmohan Singh would come to Tripura in 2013 for Congress party's campaigning but after mutual understanding with CPI-M, they did not come to Tripura”, said Biswas.

He further mentioned how a filthy situation erupted centering new committee formation in Congress recently.

“People wanted Congress in all Assembly Elections but Congress at Centre played a conspirator's role to keep CPI-M in power. Now the situation is beyond repair and nobody can save Congress”, added Pijush Biswas.
