AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Tripura Congress has paid tribute to the “Father of the Nation” Mahatma Gandhi on Saturday on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

Tributes have been paid to the legend at Congress State Headquarter at Post Office Chowmuhani, Agartala and also at the Gandhighat.

Addressing media, Congress State President Birjit Sinha said, “Not only India but Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology on ‘non-violence’ has been understood by the whole world. Today world understands that it’s only non-violence which can take the world ahead”.

Birjit Sinha further referred about China’s mass killing of students who are carrying placards with Mahatma Gandhi’s quotes.

Sinha slammed the BJP for its soft corner for terrorist Nathuram Godse who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.
