AGARTALA, Aug 25 (TIWN): Land owners caught ONGC officials at New Colony area in Kalmalasagar while leaving with belongings after being not paid ‘Land Rent’ since above 4 years.
Reportedly, ONGC took land in rent from locals in Kamalasagar New Colony area in 2006 for dealing, as usual, they paid rent for 9 years but suddenly the ONGC workers stopped paying rent. As a result the land owners have not been getting paid since above 4 years.
Oppositely, the ONGC authority without paying the due rent were leaving with all their belongings on Wednesday morning. Noticing they were cheated, the local landowners blocked the ONGC official and did not allow them to leave the spot.
This incident generated tension in the area.
